What is Fiverr?
Fiverr is a platform that connects service providers to those who need their services. It has made a name for itself as the go to place for freelancers to get gigs.
Its achievements
According to ahrefs Fiverr, as of the writing of this article gets over 9 million visits a month and ranks for over 2.5 million keywords. Those are quite heady numbers. Let us discuss how they got there.
SEO Strategies Fiverr uses
Here are some of the SEO tactics Fiverr has used to grow its organic traffic
1) Time
This can be a bit anti climatic but time is an essential aspect to SEO. Fiverr has been around for a very long time. And better yet, it has been consistent. Most people struggle with SEO because they see it as a short term hack that can generate immediate results. This couldn’t be further from the truth. SEO takes a long time to work. We are talking about months and in some cases years.
So what we can learn from Fiverr is that, you need to be prepared to put in the time. When planning your SEO efforts, you need to allocate a long enough time frame. But don’t fret, it works. Wouldn’t it be great if you could get 1 million free visitors every month? Yes right. It would be great. So what if it will take a couple of months. Think of it as a great long term investment.
2) Free tools
This is another great tactic you could use. Fiverr leverages free tools to get traffic. A great example is their logo maker.

Their logo maker enables people to create logos and brand identity. So, they rank for the keyword Fiverr logo maker. In addition to that, they also rank for keywords like logo maker, gaming logo, pubg logo etc and they rank almost number one for them all.
Try to think of a free tool you could create and leverage the traffic to upsell or push them to your main website.
3) Templates
We all love things that save us time. For example, if you want to write a report, and you are able to find a free template for it, doesn’t it feel great.
Fiverr knows this, that is why, they have created lots of free templates on their website. They could be anything. Here are some examples.
- University resume templates
- First job interview templates
And many more. The templates rank well on Google and other search engines and the hope is that as you use the template, you gain more familiarity with them and eventually use their platform.
4) “Everything you need to know about” Guides
If you look through Fiverr’s website, you will see lots of guides that teach you about things. For example, there are Copywriting guides that teach you everything you need to learn about copywriting.
These also rank really well. In addition, they provide tangible value to the reader.
In Summary
As you can see, sometimes its the simple things, done consistently over a long period of time that bring the best results. And I do mean simple, for example, I haven’t seen any link building strategy, people just seem to link to them. Their on page SEO is on point but its not complex. Just a H1, relevant content, maybe an FAQ section and some keywords. That is it. This is a billion dollar brand we are talking here. Anyway, feel free to STEAL their tactics and apply them to your own website.
