SEO Strategies
You have decided to redo your website and this time round, you have a focus on increasing your search rankings. Believe it or not, whether you’re taking over, improving, or just starting your SEO strategy, the actual basics of improving your rankings aren’t that difficult
You don’t have to have a master’s degree in SEO to ensure your website is well positioned for organic search engine traffic(it can help though). Jokes aside, here are some tips to guide you on the right path.
1: Hire an expert
Maybe spending money was not in the cards for you. I understand that predicament. But you have to make the choice of working on your business or working in your business. A lot of entrepreneurs that I know, and even that you know, have one common issue. Time. Time is valuable. Your time is valuable. Your time is better spent talking to your new/existing customers and figuring out how better you can solve your customer’s problem. Your time is better spent on the office/manufacturing floor figuring out how to improve current processes. It takes time to learn SEO, especially if you have little programming knowledge to begin with. So the first advise we give you is get someone who is better at it than you to do it.
2: Write high quality content
Like it or not, Google ranks websites that provide value. The cheapest value you can create is content. This includes anything from how to guides to your take on the industry in general. Writing will also put you miles ahead of your competition as you will have something they don’t, Thought leadership. This plays a big role on how your customers perceive you and whether they choose to buy from you.
3: Optimize for the right keywords
Find out the words that your customers use to find companies like yours and optimize for the keywords. Its really that simple. There are several methods to check the keywords, you just need to google to find the right tool. A lot are free but the best tend to be paid. Use tools like Google Trend or Neil Patels Keyword tool. Once you have the keywords, you just need to ensure that they are used organically throughout your website. Avoid keyword stuffing, this is the practice of just plugging in your keywords into your blog for the hell of it. Google will penalize you for such and your website will never rank.
